4.7 Preserve On Event Logging (POEL)
4.7.1 Introduction
I
n some cases, especially when a lot of data is being logged on the receiver, it may be
interesting to preserve certain valuable
fi
les which are linked to a speci
fi
c event (e.g. the
occurrence of an earthquake). Preserve On Event Logging (POEL) allows such Event-based
marking of
fi
les in order to prevent them from being deleted.
To con
fi
gure POEL, create a new log session as described in Section 4.5 and select Type:
âĂ
Ÿ
Preserve on EventâĂ
Ź
. Currently, âĂ
Ÿ
EventsâĂ
Ź
refers to hardware events: a voltage
transition registered by either the Event A or the Event B pins. Data can be preserved from x
minutes before until y minutes after event as shown in Figure 4-28. The maximum amount
of time data can be preserved before the event is 24 hours.
Figure 4-28:

I
n this example,
data is preserved from 15 minutes before until 15 minutes after the event.
