The instructions below shows how to assemble a wall for a 2/8x6/8 door.
Adjust the opening size for other types and sizes of entry doors.

Assemble Front Wall Frame with Walk-in Door
1.
Cut (1) one treated 2x4-10' and (1) one untreated 2x4-10' to a length of 72".
2.
Install (4) four pre-cut wall studs between the 72" long 2x4s; see spacing below. Use 16d
galvanized nails for the bottom plate and 16d coated sinker nails for the top plate.

Position a 68-1/2" window wall frame from Step 7
next to the door frame with the wider stud space to
the right end of the wall.

3.
Cut (2) two pre-cut studs to a length of
80-1/2". Install them against the center
wall studs using 10d coated sinker nails.
4.
Assemble a 2x4 door header using pre-
cut studs and a OSB filler suppled in the
kit. Install this on top of the 80-1/2" door
jacks using 10d coated sinker nails
toenailed into the studs.
5.
Cut 2x4 blocks to size (from scrap
material) and install between the top plate
and door header with 10d coated sinkers.
