PRODUCT SAFETY
IMPORTANT
The mains lead of this product is not replaceable by the user. If the mains lead is damaged,
the appliance should be taken to an authorised service centre, for repair.
Please read these instructions carefully before using your iron for the first time and retain
for future reference.
• Make sure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate is the same as your
household supply. If not, do not use the iron and return it to the place of purchase.
• To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse any part of the iron
in water or any other liquids.
• Never yank the cord to disconnect from power outlet, always grasp the plug
and pull to disconnect.
• Use iron only for its intended use.
• The iron should always be turned to “min” before plugging or unplugging from the outlet.
• Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely before
putting it away. Loop cord loosely around the iron when storing.
• Always disconnect the iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying
and when not in use.
• Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Take it to an Approved
Service Centre for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric
shock when the iron is used.
• Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children.
Do not leave the iron unattended while connected to the mains or on an ironing board.
• Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you
turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
• If the iron is not operating normally, disconnect from the power supply and have
the iron serviced by qualified service personnel.
• The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
• The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or
if it is leaking.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to the mains supply.
• The plug must be removed from the socked-outlet before the water reservoir
is filled with water.
• When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand
is placed is stable.
