Archiving and processing voting results
After the vote is completed, two files are automatically created in the
“
SDC 8000\S_CM
” folder:
y
A text file (
*.txt
):
The file name of the text file consists of the date, number, amendment
number and title of the vote (example:
2005-04-24--1_03_
Election
of the chairman
.txt
). This file contains the voting options, the vote
cast by each participant (only with public votes), the votes cast per
voting option as well the the total number of votes cast.
This file can be opened and displayed using a text editor.
y
A statistics file (
*.vot
):
The file name of the statistics file consists of the date, number,
amendment number and title of the vote (example:
2005-04-24--
1_03_
Election of the chairman
.vot
). Statistics files can be imported,
visualized and processed using a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft
Excel.
The data are available in the
Windows ANSI format
and are separated by
commas
. The first line contains information on the vote. The following
lines are
sorted according to microphone numbers
and contain data from
the delegate database (if available) as well as the votes cast.
A vote cast by a participant (here column “F”) is represented by a
number between 1 and 6. The meanings of the numbers:
The last column (here column “G”) always contains the value “-1”. You
can delete this column.
Using chip cards
Chip cards allow you to give your conference a more personal and flexible
touch while making it more convenient. And it makes voting safer:
y
You do not need to enter any data into the name list. Instead, the name
list is updated automatically with the names stored on the chip card as
soon as a delegate inserts his chip card into the chip card slot of his
console.
The delegates can thus sit down at any desired console or swap places
with someone else whenever they want and the correct name is still
displayed next to the current microphone number. Absent delegates do
not appear on the name list.
If you have entered names into the name list nevertheless, these are
overwritten by the names on the chip cards as soon as a chip card is
inserted into the chip card slot of a console. If the chip card is removed
again, a name is no longer assigned to this console
