eDP Connector
THEMIS offers an optional dedicated embedded Display
Port interface.
This interface is realized through Texas Instrument
SN65DSI86 MIPI
®
bridge, connected from
one channel of the four-lane MIPI display serial interface to eDP interface of the VESA connector.
For the connection of this kind of displays, on-board there is a VESA
®
certified connectors for
embedded Display Port interface, type STARCONN p/n 300E40-0110RA-G3 or equivalent
(microcoaxial cable connector, 0.5mm pitch, 40 positions).
On this connector, EDP_VCC_BKL_SW and EDP_VCC_LCD_SW are the software-enabled voltage
rails that can be used to supply the LCD and related Backlight Unit.
The LCD software-driven voltage, i.e. signal EDP_VCC_LCD_SW, can be factory regulated to be
connected to +5V_ALW or +3.3V_ALW, while backlight software-driven voltage, i.e. signal
EDP_VCC_BKL_SW, can be factory regulated to be connected to +5V_ALW or +12V_ALW
These are factory configurations, please take care of specifying which is the configuration needed
for EDP_VCC_LCD_SW and EDP_VCC_BKL_SW voltage rail.
Here following the signals involved in eDP management:
eDP_ML0P/eDP_ML0N : embedded DP differential data pair #0.
eDP_ML1P/eDP_ML1N : embedded DP differential data pair #1.
eDP_ML2P/eDP_ML2N : embedded DP differential data pair #2.
eDP_ML3P/eDP_ML3N : embedded DP differential data pair #3.
eDP_AUXN/eDP_AUXP: embedded DP auxiliary channel differential data pair.
eDP_HPD: embedded DP Hot Plug Detect. +3.3V_RUN electrical level signal.
eDP_BKL_CTRL: this signal can be used to adjust the backlight brightness in displays supporting
Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) regulations , electrical level +3.3V_RUN.
eDP_BKL_ON: Backlight enable signal, electrical level +3.3V_RUN.
