Scope
This manual describes the Seagate Technology®, Inc. Hawk 4XL™ disc drives.
Hawk 4XL drives support the small computer system interface (SCSI) as described in the ANSI SCSI, SCSI-2,
and SCSI-3 (Fast-20) interface specifications to the extent described in this manual. The

(part number 77738479) describes general SCSI interface characteristics of this and other families
of Seagate drives.
From this point on in this product manual the reference to Hawk 4XL models is referred to as “the drive” (unless
references to individual models are necessary).
