01 means SCSI-1 implemented;
02 means SCSI-2/SCSI-3 implemented. Default is 02.

The drive can be changed between these two configurations:
01 means response data in SCSI-1 format and has compatibility with Common Command Set data.
02 means response data in SCSI-2/SCSI-3 format (default is 02).
R# Four ASCII digits representing the last four digits of the product Firmware Release number. This informa-
tion is also given in the Vital Product Data page C0h, together with servo RAM and ROM release num-
bers.
S# Eight ASCII digits representing the eight digits of the product serial number.

9.3.1 Inquiry Vital Product data
Instead of the standard Inquiry data shown in Table 7, the initiator can request several Vital Product Data
pages by setting the Inquiry command EVPD bit to one. The
SCSI Interface Product Manual, part number
77738479, Section 5.1.1.3.1 lists the Vital Product Data pages and describes their formats. A separate Inquiry
command must be sent to the drive for each Vital Product Data page the initiator wants the drive to send back.
