2.3
Product safety
The module conforms to the state of the art and the recog-
nized technical safety regulations at the time of delivery.
However, there are potential risks associated with the mod-
ule, for example if:
•
the module is not used for the intended purpose;
•
the module is improperly installed or serviced;
•
the EC Machine Directive, the VDE regulations, the
applicable safety and accident prevention regulations
and the safety and installation instructions are not
complied with.
2.3.1
Safety devices
Safety devices must be provided in accordance with the
EC Machine Directive.
2.3.2
Drive controller requirements
The module must be electrically connected to a drive
controller approved by SCHUNK which in turn is
connected to the mains power supply by means of a
power supply unit.
The drive controller and power supply units may only be
connected to a mains power supply which conforms to
the requirements of the controller.
In the case of a field bus controller, the customer
interfaces must also conform to the specifications of the
interface for the drive controller. The drive controllers
and power supply units must be installed and secured in
accordance with the information in the operating
manuals of the components and the applicable
standards and regulations, as well as local guidelines.
