6.4 Taking the Cutter Out of Transport

Transport lock pins are provided for the center phasing and wing lift hydraulic cylinders. When these pins are
inserted in their respective holes, they prevent the wings or center frame from dropping due to a hydraulic
cylinder being activated accidentally or from hydraulic hose failure.

1. Ensure wing lift cylinders are fully retracted.
2. Disengage the wing lock up pins as shown in

Figure Ops-627. If the pin does not move freely
then the wing cylinder is not fully retracted.

3. Once the wing lock up pins are disengaged,

lower the wings using the tractor’s hydraulics.

4. After the wings are fully lowered, raise the FX-

742 using the height lift circuit.

5. When the FX-742 is fully raised, remove the

center transport pin and place it in its storage
location as indicated in Figure Ops-626.
