How does your pressure cooker work?
When heating up the closed pressure cooker, the resulting steam leads to overpressure in the
pot‘s interior. This increases water‘s boiling point and, consequently, also the pot‘s internal tem-
perature. In turn, this decreases the cooking time.
Your pressure cooker has 2 cooking / pressure levels:
- At level 1, a temperature of about 114˚ C is reached with an overpressure of approx.
60kPa. It is particularly well-suited for brief cooking of vegetables, fish and pasta.
- The second level (2), with a temperature of approx. 120˚ C and an overpressure of
approx. 100kPa, is perfect for cooking meat (e. g. beef or pork).
Which advantages are offered by your pressure cooker?
Cooking in pressure cookers has many advantages when compared with other cooking
methods:
Food needs much less time to cook. Depending on the food, its quality and texture, only about
10 % to 30 % of the normal cooking time is needed. The food is prepared very gently. This way,
the aroma, vitamins and minerals are preserved. Using a pressure cooker, up to 50 % of the
time and energy needed can be saved.
