Using a Philips head screwdriver, remove and retain the screws that 

secure the centercase covers (

•     

Remove and retain the centercase covers.

•     

Remove existing trim if present.

•     

Locate horizontal centerline of device.

•     

Transfer horizontal centerline to side of door.

•     

Measure backset on exit device-side using square.

•     

Transfer backset measurement to the trim-side.

NOTE: Take door bevel into account if there is one.
