Directions for use
2.1 Operation
After adjustment and connection the pipe notcher is ready for use.
Before placing a pipe on the V-tool rest (H), the tool rest is moved to a position 5 mm from
the contact roller (E) in order to adjust the feeding stop (I). Use handle (J) to move the tool
rest to a clearance of 5 mm the contact wheel. Tighten the two lock nuts on the feeding
stop.
The handle (J) is the feeder. Perform the grinding by placing a pipe in the V-tool rest (H),
where it is fastened by the pipe holder (F). The V-tool rest is raised/lowered from the
contact roller (E) by turning the twin arm handle (N). Remember to loosen/tighten the star
handle (K), when raising/lowering the V-tool rest. Adjust the V-tool rest to horizontal level
first by loosening the handle (L) and then adjusting the V-tool rest to the wanted position in
connection to the contact roller by turning the handle (M).
Finally adjust the grinding angle by loosening the handle (O) and tilt the pipe notcher to the
wanted angle with the tilting arm (R). Read the angle on the scale (G). Now tighten the
handle (O). You can now start your pipe notcher on the switch (P).
Lead the pipe to be grinded against the contact roller by pulling the feed mechanism (J).
The lifetime of the grinding belt is increased when beginning with a slight pressure.
2.2 Examples of Pipe Joints
The SCANTOOL Pipe Notcher is constructed to process pipes of various dimensions for
joining with another pipe.
Please see examples below. Normally it will be necessary to remove burrs after grinding.
Make sure to wear ear and eye protection during working at the machine.
