Operating the TrustBox
7.1
Connecting to DC Main Power Supply
The DC input connector is located on the right side of the TrustBox. TrustBox should be
connected to a DC main power supply via the supplied power plug adaptor, which is included
in the package. See
section above for more detailed information about the power
adaptor.
7.2
Operating System
TrustBox is supplied optionally with a pre-installed operating system (NXP LSDK, Ubuntu),
Microsoft Azure IoT Edge and Microsoft Azure Open Enclave components.
Currently there are two BSP versions available for Trustbox: Layerscape SDK and Yocto
based. Both of them are officially supported by Scalys. All the latest software (BSP) for
TrustBox is available at our GitHub page:
7.3
Firmware structure
TrusBox firmware is organized into following units:
•
bootloader
–
includes pre-bootloader that performs initial CPU configuration and U-
Boot bootloader along with its environment;
•
PFE firmware
–
networking implementation using Packet Forwarding Engine system
by NXP;
•
PPA (Primary Protected Application)
–
a software component that is loaded during
boot. It remains in RAM and runs in TrustZone after boot process is complete;
•
operating system
–
consists of Linux kernel and Ubuntu-based user space.
This structure finds reflection in a default partitioning of the internal storage of the TrustBox.
TrustBox LSDK BSP is based on a BSP version from NXP. Please see the Layerscape
Software Development Kit User Guide by NXP for more details on BSP internal organization
and capabilities.
7.4
