Disinfection:
Purpose: To destroy or inactivate micro-organisms
Use gloves for this operation
Apply a disinfectant with a carrier moistened with a disinfectant solution
Rinse thoroughly with water and a sponge
Drying:
Purpose: Protect equipment from contamination once disinfected
Wipe the equipment with a dry, lint-free clean
Storage:
Objective: To maintain the cleanliness of the clean and disinfected devices
Store equipment and medical devices, once retired, in clean places, raised above
ground and protected from dust, moisture, heat, sunlight and risk of deterioration of
packagings (tears, staples, ...)
Product should be avoided for cleaning and disinfecting:
peracetic acid at concentrations> 10%
organic solvents like halogenated hydrocarbons / aromatic or acetone
products with a pH> 8 and <5
products containing corrosive or caustic substances
