Layout
• Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully,
ensuring the cable has enough flex to allow for
future tilt adjustments if necessary.
• Avoid locating any cables in positions that would
cause a hazard. Position cables and outdoor rated
junction boxes (not supplied) away from areas
where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or
damaged.
• This is a floodlight product, and therefore should be
positioned where it will not cause a glare hazard.
• We recommend that you use H05RN-F specification
cable (not supplied) which is an outdoor grade,
rubber sheathed cable. The mains supply cable must
have a minimum cross sectional area of 1.0mm²
Cables must be protected using suitable conduit or
plastic trunking.
• Avoid mounting on surfaces subject to vibration, as
this may affect the PIR sensor.
• To avoid damage to the unit, do not aim the sensor
towards the sun or areas of strong electro-magnetic
disturbances.
• To avoid nuisance triggering, the sensor should be
aimed away from heat sources, such as BBQ’s,
Air-Conditioners, other outside lighting, moving cars
and flue vents or reflective surfaces such as smooth
white walls or swimming pools.
• When selecting location, it is advisable to note that
movement across the sensors field is more effective
than towards/away from it.
Existing fittings must be completely removed before
installation of a new product. Before removing the
existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set
of wires.
• Decide on the optimum location for the product.
• Remove the fixing bracket from the product by
removing the bolts and spring washers. Keep safe
for refitting later.
• Hold the bracket in position and mark the location
of the fixing holes. A minimum of two fixing points
must be used.
• Drill and plug the wall at the marked positions.
• Fix the bracket to the wall using the screws and
plugs. Ensure the wall is capable of holding the
weight of the product. Take care to avoid damaging
any concealed wiring and pipes. The correct fixings
should be used for brick or cavity walls.
• Undo screws holding the Junction Box Cover and
remove.
• Loosen Gland to allow cable to pass through. Feed
cable through, allowing enough length to connect to
terminal block.
• Wire as detailed below.
• Re-fit Junction Box Cover, ensuring excess cable
slack is pulled through, and seal is correctly seated..
• Fit product to wall bracket, ensuring bolts are
tightened fully.
• Refit product to bracket ensuring spring washers
are fitted onto the bolts and that the bolts are fully
tightened.
Installation
Connect the supply cable to the terminals as indicated
below. The only terminals that will need to be connected
are the supply live, supply neutral and supply earth
