■ Flush the paint spray gun well with a thinner.
■ Clean air nozzle with a paintbrush or brush.
■ Lightly grease moving parts with gun grease.
10. Troubleshooting
Only trained experts are permitted to rectify the malfunctions described
below.
If it is not possible to rectify a malfunction using the remedies described
below, send the paint spray gun in to the SATA Service Department (see
Chap. 15 for address).

Uneven spray jet (pul-
sating/sputtering) or
air bubbles in gravity
flow cup.
Paint nozzle not se-
cured tightly.
Tighten paint nozzle
using universal wrench.
Damaged or soiled air
distribution ring.
Replace air distribution
ring (see 8.2).
Air bubbles in gravity
flow cup.
Air nozzle loose. Tighten air nozzle by
hand.
Space between air
nozzle and paint noz-
zle (“air circuit”) dirty.
Clean air circuit. Read
and follow cleaning
instructions (see 9).
Nozzle set dirty. Clean nozzle set. Read
and follow cleaning
instructions (see 9).
Nozzle set damaged. Replace nozzle set
(see 8.1).
Not enough spray
medium in gravity flow
cup.
Fill gravity flow cup

Paint needle gasket
