9.3 Shipping-related Tasks / Returns
9.3.1 General Information
CAUTION
Danger of injury due to contaminated equipment!
Devices contaminated with hazardous materials (NBC contamination) will
not
be
accepted for repair or disposal .
Defective devices or parts can be returned to Sartorius Stedim Biotech .
Returned devices must be clean, decontaminated and packed carefully .
Transport damage as well as measures for subsequent cleaning and disinfection of
the parts by Sartorius Stedim Biotech shall be charged to the sender .
9.3.2 Returning the Device
Procedure
When returning the device, please proceed as follows:

Decommission the device (see Chapter 10 .3, page 28) .
t
Clean the device (see Chapter “7 Cleaning”, page 24) .
t
Decontaminate the device properly (see Chapter “10 .2 Information on
Decontamination”, page 27) .
t
Complete the Decontamination Declaration (preprinted form, see
Chapter 14 .1, page 33) .
t
Return the device to Sartorius Service .
