MULTIPLEXER OPERATION

The VSP-8000 enables two methods of multiplexer operation. One is performing direct operation using the command buttons on the
VSP-8000 [A] and the other is by using the call-up commands to bring up commands to the menu screen [B]. Some multiplexers are
equipped with a matrix switching function (for spot monitor screen setting), and some are not. The system controller automatically
detects which type of multiplexer is connected.

[A] Operation using the command buttons

Use the procedure outlined below to operate the multiplexers.

Operating procedure

1. Press the INDIVIDUAL button.
2. Press the MODE button to change the displayed device to

“MX”.

3. Enter the address with the numeric keypad.
4. Press the ENTER button to check the address status.

The operating status of the multiplexer appears in the
menu screen. (Refer to Checking the address.)

5. Press the desired command buttons located in the

MULTIPLEXER section of your VSP-8000.

For an explanation of the multiplexer command buttons,
refer to the Command button operation list on page 21.

Checking the address

When the address is checked in step 4,
the operating status of the multiplexer
appears in the menu screen.

The multiplexer is digital and if it is connected in series,
the main monitor display is activated by the LIVE
button on the device to be displayed.

If a “V” appears instead of an “L”, the mode is video or digital video
recorder playback mode.
