5.2.8 Detaching the Liftkar PT-A from the wheelchair
1.
First press
UP
on the UP/DOWN switch to raise the whole unit until there is
enough space to fit the large wheelchair wheels
(remember to engage low
speed).
2.
Insert the wheel axles into their sockets and apply the parking brake so that the
wheelchair cannot roll away while the stairclimber is being detached.
3.
Now you can remove the quick-release pins from the upper mountings
(hold the
mushroom head between forefinger and middle finger and press the spring pin
down with your thumb)
.
4.
Press
DOWN
on the UP/DOWN switch so that the lifting frame retracts
(the
single-step control stops it in the right place automatically)
.
The stairclimber
moves downwards away from the upper mountings to rest on its main wheels
and can now be removed.
