Resolution (Movie images)
• You can select the resolution of movie image to be recorded.

[HD] 1080/30p
Records in the HD (1920x1080 30p) format.
“30p” indicates the camcorder will record in progressive scan mode at 30 frames per second.
This resolution is ideal for computer monitor playback.
[HD] 1080/60i
Records in the Full HD (1920x1080 60i) format.
“60i” indicates the camcorder will record in interlaced scan mode at 60 fields per second.
This resolution is ideal for TV playback.
[SD] 480/60p
Records in the SD (720x480 60p) format.
“60p” indicates the camcorder will record in progressive scan mode at 60 frames per second.
[SD] Slow Motion
• Records in the slow motion (448x336 300fps).
• This is great for analyzing a golf swing or a viewing a bird in flight.
By increasing the record rate from 60 fields per second (fps) to 300 fps for 10 seconds, the
camcorder allows you to capture 10 seconds of fast motion.
When played back, the video will be 50 seconds long.
• Recorded files are encoded with Variable Bit Rate (VBR). VBR is an encoding system that automatically adjusts the bit rate according to the recording image.
• High resolution images occupy more memory space than low resolution images. If the higher resolution is selected, there is less space to record
movie images in the memory.
• When recording at HD1080/30p or 1080/60i, images will be played back at 1080i on your HDTV.
• Movie images recorded in the [SD] 480/60p resolution at Normal image quality are saved at 640x480, 30p (VGA), and in the 4:3 ratio.

• For photo development, the higher the resolution, the finer the image quality.
• The number of recordable images varies depending on the recording environment.
• Photo images that are recorded on your HD camcorder may not playback properly on other digital devices that do not support this photo size.
• High resolution images occupy more memory space than low resolution images. If a higher resolution is selected, there is less space to store photos in the memory.
