HDMI cable does not support 576i. Video with 576i resolution can only
be viewed through the analogue outputs (Composite/S-Video/
Component).
Even if HDMI cable is connected to your TV, the AV connection
outputs only 576i and the component connection outputs only
576P irrespective of the on-screen display.
Progressive scan automatically activates when HDMI is connected.
(Please make sure PSO is indicated on the front panel of the HDD &
DVD Recorder.)
There will be no HDMI video and audio outputs unless progressive
scan function is activated.
Consult your TV User’s Manual to fi nd out if your TV supports
Progressive Scan.
If Progressive Scan is supported, follow the TV User’s Manual
regarding Progressive Scan settings in the TV’s menu system.
If Video Output is set incorrectly, the screen may be blocked.
The resolutions available for HDMI output depend on the
connected TV or projector. For details, see the user’s manual of your
TV or projector.
When the resolution is changed it may take a few seconds for a
normal image to appear.
If you set the HDMI output resolution 720P or 1080i, HDMI output
provides better picture quality.
If your TV supports Progressive Scan, press the P.SCAN button on the
front of the HDD & DVD Recorder.
To view ‘Progressive scan mode’, fi rst connect the component cable.
(See page 20)
