Introduction
The ExCam IPQ1775 is a camera (type 08) manufactured by SAMCON Prozessleittech-
nik GmbH, equipped with a light sensitive motor zoom and fast autofocus. Due to the
high performance of the ExCam IPQ1775 it disposes of a broad application spectrum
within the industrial process observation or in the security sector regarding the surveil-
lance of personnel as well as machine operations.
Because of to the combination of a high-resolution CMOS sensor with a 10-fold optical
zoom, this network camera is particularly suitable when observing objects in greater dis-
tance opting for an extremely detailed visualization.
The camera is intended for inside as well as outside use, preferably within hazardous
areas of the chemical and/or petro-chemical industry, at offshore plants, in mines, and at
biogas plants.
The ExCam IPQ1775 is suitable for the usage within the Ex zones 1, 2, 21, and 22 in-
cluding the gas group IIC (all gases, steams, and fogs including acetylene, hydrogen,
and carbon disulphide) and the dust group IIIC (conductive dusts and flammable fibrous
material), as well as in mining. Within the equipment group I (mining), the camera series
can be used in areas with a low risk of mechanical danger. In case the camera is to be
used in areas with a high mechanical risk, the optical components (sight glass) have to
be protected suitably. Within the equipment group II (all hazardous areas except mining);
the ExCam IPQ1775 is without any additional mechanical protection suitable for all areas
with a high mechanical risk. Besides for fixed installation, the T08 ExCam series is also
certified to be used for mobile applications (hand-held etc.)
The Ex-d stainless steel housing allows additional alloys, a powder coating, or coats of
varnishes as well as various mechanical accessories, in order to extend the resistance
towards extreme environmental conditions (salt water, acid, solar radiation, high mechan-
ical strains etc.). Due to the usage of high-quality PTFE sealings, not only the protection
level IP68 is reached but also the chemical resistance is maximized.
