3.2.3. 8- rotary tedder
Overview of 8- rotary tedder is provided in
Fig. 5
. 3-point linkage frame (
1
) with catch (
2
)
enables connecting tedder to the tractor 3-point linkage suspension. Drive with tractor PTO is
transmitted by intersectional gears onto rotors. The tedder comprises of six lateral drive (
4
)
,
(
5
)
,
(
6
)
,
(
7
)
,
(
8
)
,
(
9
) as well as main one (
3
), onto which rotors are set with arms (
10
) and fingers (
11
). Safety
guards (
12
) are mounted on the frame and lateral drive units. For transport the two lateral units with
rotors are folded by hydraulics to vertical position and locked with a locking pawl (
13
).

Parts of 6-rotary tedder
1 – 3-point linkage frame
2 – Catch
3 – Main dive unit
4,5,6 – Left drive units
7,8,9 – Right drive units
10 – Raking arms
11 – Spring tines
12– Safety guards
13 – Locking pawl
14 – Ground following mechanism
15 – Plates with luminous and reflecting elements
16 – Chain for operating position adjustment
17 – Additional chain for ground following
18 – Warning triangle for a slow driving vehicle (optional)
19 – Ground following wheel (optional)
20 – Windrow curtain “field edge” (optional)
The tedder has been equipped with ground following mechanism (
14
) enabling for following
the ground unevenness by the machine with use of 3-point linkage suspension stiff connector.
The tedder may be equipped with (optional) ground following wheel (
19
) and windrow
curtain for tedding on the field edge (
20
) (optional). Chain for operating position adjustment (
16
)
is used for operation on very uneven ground to be used instead of the stiff connector. Chain (
17
)
is used when adaptation range of the mechanism (
14
) is not sufficient.
When driving on public roads the tedder should be equipped with a plate with luminous and
reflecting elements (
15
), and a warning triangle for a slow driving vehicle (
18
).
