14. The current carrying wires must be protected by an insulated sleeve and that the wires (inclusive of the
sleeve) shall not be subjected to stress.
15. The external earthing conductor should be such that when failure of the suspension system occur,
current-carrying conductors become taut before the earthing conductor.
16. After fan being installed, safety cord should not be longer than the earthing conductor, should failure of the
suspension system occur, the supporting of the fan must not rely on the earthing conductor.
17. Location of the earthing terminal in the fan assembly should be such that should any part of the suspension
system fall off , the body of the fan assembly shall effectively earthed.
18. When installing light bulbs, turn off the electrical mains. Light bulb used shall not exceed 18W and
E27 type only.
