OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before first use:
1.
Open the lid of your kettle by pushing the lid latch backwards towards the kettle
handle and then pulling the lid upwards.
2.
Pour the water in through the open lid of the kettle.
3.
Fill the kettle to the ‘max’ level. Boil. Discard the water. Repeat this twice.
4.
Make sure that the lid is closed properly before boiling by gently clicking the lid back
in place.
5.
Always ensure your kettle is placed on a flat surface.
To Use:
Fill the kettle with water, and press the on/off switch downwards to switch on the kettle. The
power light will illuminate. When the kettle boils it will switch off automatically.
NEVER OVERFILL YOUR KETTLE AS THIS MAY RESULT IN BOILING WATER
BEING EJECTED FROM THE SPOUT AND WILL ALSO INTERFERE WITH THE
SWITCH OFF TIME OF THE KETTLE
.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
A safety cutout device will automatically operate should the kettle be accidentally switched on
without any water, or without sufficient water to cover the element, or by allowing to boil dry.
Should the cutout device be activated, allow your kettle to cool for a few minutes before
refilling, to permit this device to reset.
CLEANING
Always unplug the kettle at the mains, and leave to cool before cleaning.
Clean the outside with a soft, damp cloth, and buff with a dry cloth.
Never use any harsh cleaning agents or abrasive products.
FILTER CLEANING
Remove the filter from the kettle as follows: open the lid, slide the filter upwards to
release. Rinse the filter with tap water and if necessary a soft brush can be used to remove any
stubborn dirt. Replace the filter firmly before using the kettle.
DE-SCALING
Scale build – up may cause overheating. This will reduce the working life of the element.
As the element is concealed beneath the kettle, there are no awkward nooks and crannies for
the scale to get a foothold. It can build up only on the walls and floor of the kettle, where it
can be seen and dealt with.
To minimize scale build – up:
Empty the kettle after each use – don’t leave water in it overnight
.
If the water in your area is particularly hard, you might consider using filtered water instead of
tap water.
Rinse the kettle with clean water and wipe its walls whenever you notice a film on the water
after boiling or if you see scale start to build up on the inside surfaces of the kettle.
