Operating the APD-100
4.2 Powder Type Selection
Follow these steps to select the type of powder being used.
1.
With the APD-100 powered up, press the
POWDER
key…
The display will show one of six powder types:
BALL
,
FLAKE
,
EXTRUD
,
CUST1
,
CUST2
,
CUST3
.
2.
Press
FAST/^
or
TRICKEL/v
key to scroll through the list of powder types.
3.
Press
ENTER
to accept the displayed powder type. This setting will not
change until you change it or it is changed by recall of a powder formula from
memory.
4.3 Weighing and Dispensing
1.
Place the powder scoop onto the platform and press
ZERO/EXIT
key to zero
the scale.
2.
Place the desired smokeless powder (black powder or Pyrodex should
NEVER
be used!) into the powder reservoir.
3.
Press the
UNIT
key to select the appropriate unit of measure; grains, grams or
ounces. The scale will use this unit of measure until it is changed again.
4.
Key in the desired charge weight using the number keypad. Press the
EXIT
key to exit the input mode, press the
BACKSPACE
key to clear the last digit.
5.
When the desired charge weight is displayed, press
ENTER
key to dispense
powder…
The dispenser will stop automatically when the selected charge weight is
reached. After a charge is finished, APD-100 will display
CT=001
and
beep (unless beeper is turned off). We recommend that the first several
charges be placed back into the reservoir. This allows the APD-100 to
fully stabilize and fill the feed tube with powder.
6.
Press the
ENTER
key again to dispense another charge at the selected weight
in memory or, to discharge the same weight multiple times, press the
AUTO
REPEAT
key then the
ENTER
key…
The unit will dispense the last weight dispensed. See
for more information.
7.
To pause the dispenser while a charge is being dropped, press the
PAUSE
key. Press the
PAUSE
key again to resume charging.
8.
To change the selected weight, key in a new weight on the keypad and press
the
ENTER
key. The dispenser will drop the new selected charge weight.
