10 Faults, causes and remedies
Only have faults rectified by qualified personnel! Follow the safety instructions in

• Observe the installation and operating instructions of the unit and the accessories!
• If the operating fault cannot be remedied, please contact your specialist technician or
Salmson Service or the closest Salmson representative.

To remedy faults on parts which are under pressure, depressurise these first (vent the non-return valve and
drain the tank, with diaphragm hand pump if necessary).

Pump inlet or impeller clogged
• Remove deposits in the pump and/or tank

Incorrect direction of rotation
• Exchange the 2 phases of the current feed

Wear of inner parts (impeller, bearing)
• Replace worn parts

Operating voltage too low

Running on two phases (only in the case of 3~ version)
• Exchange defective fuse
• Check line connections

Motor is not running since no voltage available
• Check the electric installation

Motor winding or electric line defective

Non-return valve clogged
• Clean non-return valve

Water level dropped too low in the tank
• Check/exchange the level monitor

Level monitor defective

Slide valve in the pressure pipe is not or insufficiently open
• Open the slide valve completely

• Check pipes to make sure they have a flexible connection

Temperature monitor for winding monitoring switched off due to excessive winding temperature
• After cooling off, the motor switched back on automatically.

• Clean the ventilation line

Thermal overcurrent monitor triggered
• Reset the overcurrent monitor in the switchgear
