Set up the Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN)
Your device is automatically adjusted to the tele-
phone network if you set the country correctly (see
also chapter
Selecting the Country
, page 39). It is
possible that further settings are required for the
Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Ask
your retailer or the technical customer service
department.

SET UP PRIVATE BRANCH
EXCHANGE (PABX)
PABX Systems
Private branch exchanges (PABX) are typical in many
offices and some households. You must dial an out-
side line access code in order to get a connection to
the public telephone network (PSTN) from a PABX.
Additional Telephone No Extension
Set up Private Branch Exchange (PABX)
You can set up your device for operation on an exten-
sion, indicate the length of the internal numbers
(direct dial number) and save the code which must be
selected in order to reach the Public Switched Tele-
phone Network (PSTN) (= outside line access code).
Outside Line Access Code is Automatically Dialled

You can use this function to set your device
to connect to the Public Switch Telephone
Network (PSTN). To connect to a Private
Branch Exchange (PABX) see also chapter

ADDITIONAL TELEPHONE NO EXTENSION
An additional telephone connected to the
device on a telephone socket is not consid-
ered an extension.

OUTSIDE LINE ACCESS CODE IS AUTOMAT-
ICALLY DIALLED
Once these settings are in place, you will no
longer need to prefix the outside line access
code every time you enter an external
number. The device will automatically add
the outside line access code in front of
numbers that are the same length or longer
than the configured direct dial numbers.
