Component Replacement Instructions
13. Press the new bushing into the beam. Bushing MUST be
oriented, aligned and centered in beam receptacles.
a. First, orientate the bushings
(Figure 27)
.
b. Press the bushings into the beam receptacles and
center them
(Figure 28)
.
IMPORTANT:
It could be necessary to push bushing
past center approximately 1" (25.4 mm)
and then re-center the bushing to relieve
the rubber
(Figure 28)
.
c. Inspect the bushing’s alignment
(Figure 29)
. If
the alignment is bad, press out bushing and repeat
the procedure.
14. Inspect the frame brackets for excessive wear on the
inside wear washers or SwingAlign alignment plates. If
wear is excessive refer to the CBXAN Series Maintenance
Manual, XL-AS20065MM-en-US or CBXAS Series
Maintenance Manual, XL-AS20101MM-en-US.
15. Reinstall equalizing beam with new pivot connection
hardware. Position at ride height and properly torque
fasteners, refer to the CBXAN Series Maintenance Manual,
XL-AS20065MM-en-US or CBXAS Series Maintenance
Manual, XL-AS20101MM-en-US, for proper torque information.
16. Reconnect the air springs, shock absorbers and height
control valve linkage. Properly torque fasteners, refer to the
CBXAN Series Maintenance Manual, XL-AS20065MM-en-US
or CBXAS Series Maintenance Manual, XL-AS20101MM-en-US,
for proper torque information.
17. Raise the lift axle to full up position and support the
equalizing beams with jack stands.
Failure to properly support the equalizing
beams could create a crush hazard which,
if not avoided, could result in death,
serious injury or component damage.
18. Reattach the PosiLift air springs.
