DHD-3 Digital Hand Dynamometer – Introduction
DHD-3 Introduction
The Digital Hand Dynamometer, Model DHD-3 provides digitized Grip
Strength measuring and Endurance Strength testing in real time. This device is
used to measure the dysfunction of injured hands. Test results can be displayed
in Kg (kilograms) or lb (Pounds).
The DHD-3 Digital Hand Dynamometer represents the latest electronic
technology applied to the familiar design of hydraulic hand dynamometers.
Utilizing electronic load cell transducers instead of hydraulic fl uid mechanisms
that are prone to leakage; the DHD-3 is extremely durable and designed to last
for many years. Highly accurate grip strength measurement from 0-200 pounds
(lbs.) or from 0-90 kilograms (kg) are digitally displayed on the LCD. Up to 20
test results for each hand can be stored in memory for manual testing, and up to
10 test results for each hand can be stored in memory for automatic testing. The
built-in battery is long lasting and is easily recharged when connected to a PC
using the USB cable included with the DHD-3.
The DHD-3 Digital Hand Dynamometer can be used as either a stand-alone
device or used with the G-STAR
TM
(Grip Strength Testing and Research) Software.
Stand- alone operation and button functions are contained in this manual. To
use the DHD-3 with G-STAR when connected to a PC, see the
G-STAR
TM
Software Installation and User Manual
.
The DHD-3 has four modes of operation:
Setting Mode
,
Testing Mode
,
Reading Mode
, and
Auto Mode
. The buttons perform different functions
depending on the current mode of operation.
Setting Mode
is used for setting the date and time, as well as setting the
Auto
Mode
number of tests and the interval between
Auto Mode
tests. The
DATE
and
TIME
of each test can be saved in memory with the corresponding test
result.
