CHAPTER 4: SEATPOST INSTALLATION
4.1 INSTALLING THE SEATPOST CRADLE ASSEMBLY IN THE SEATPOST
1.
Apply friction paste (carbon fiber paste) or grease to the conical surfaces of the clamp mechanism (4-C) and install them into the seatpost (4-D).
2.
Engage the saddle rails into the slots of the conical portions of the clamp mechanism, then place the outer caps (4-B) over the saddle rails.
3.
Install the nut (4-A). To avoid damage to the clamp mechanism, the arrows must align to ensure the tab is placed in the groove of the outer cap.
4.
Install the bolt (4-E). Use blue threadlocker (Loctite 242) on the threads, place into the opposite side outer cap and thread into the nut. Tighten lightly.
5.
Install the seatpost into the seat tube.
4.2 ADJUSTING THE SEATPOST TILT ANGLE AND FORE-AFT POSITIONS
6.
Adjust the saddle (4-F) to the desired tilt angle and fore-aft postion.
7.
NOTE: The clamp mechanism can bind slightly when rotating to adjust to the desired angle. If this occurs, lightly tap the top of the saddle.
8.
Torque the seatpost bolt to 120 in-lbf (13.5 N*m).
