INITIAL SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the Charging Cradle, USB Power Cord and AC Adaptor from packaging.
2. Plug the USB Power Cord into Charging Cradle and into the AC Adaptor. Plug the AC
Adaptor into a power outlet. The unit is designed for 110-volt power ONLY.
3. Remove Non-Contact Professional Thermometer from packaging and place in the
Charging Cradle. Allow unit to charge for a minimum of 4 hours before first usage.
A full charge will last for approximately 1,000 temperature readings.
4. The calibration of Sanomedics Non-Contact Professional Thermometer is factory-set,
however for the most accurate results the device’s calibration should be checked in the
medical setting in which it will be used. Please note, depending on various skin types and
thickness, there may be temperature differences.
The F4 function menu will allow unit calibration. To calibrate, measure an individual’s
temperature using a conventional thermometer and measure it concurrently using the
Non-Contact Professional Thermometer. If there is a difference between the two readings,
recalibrate the Non-Contact Professional Thermometer.
Instructions for recalibration:
Press the “MODE” and “°C/°F” buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. The screen will
then display: ”F4”
Press “Mode” to increase 0.1°F, press “ °C/°F ” to reduce 0.1°F.
Press “MEM” button to save the setting.
In the cases of seasonal or environmental changes a verification and adjustment should
be carried out.
5. If a dramatic change in ambient room temperature occurs wait 10-15 minutes so the
unit can become acclimated to the new room temperature.
1. For optimal results, allow the unit to acclimate to the ambient room temperature for
10-15 minutes before the first usage of the day.
2. Before taking an individual’s temperature, make sure to remove hair and wipe
perspiration from the forehead.
3. Avoid any drafts from nasal specs, air conditioning etc…
4. Aim at the FOREHEAD, above the right eye, holding the unit approximately 1-2 inches
(5 cm) from the body. Activate the thermometer’s target finding feature by depressing
the SCAN button, two red dots will appear on the subject’s forehead. Move the thermo-
meter gradually towards, or away from, the patient until only one red dot is visible – this
is the optimal range for temperature measurement. Press the Scan button a second time
to measure temperature. Results will be displayed in less than one second.
5. Each time there is a significant change in the ambient temperature due to a change in
environment, allow the Non-Contact Professional Thermometer to acclimate to the new
ambient temperature for at least 15 minutes before using.
