Serial Console Interface Connector Pin Assignments
The serial console interface connector is a 9-pin, RS-232 D-type, DTE connector. A null modem
cable is required to connect a workstation running the Linux or Windows operating system. Table
C-2 lists the pin assignments for the serial console interface connector.

The CDEs have one standard serial port
connector located on the back of the device.
Figure C-4 shows the pin number assignments for
the 9-pin, male D-shell serial port connector on
the back of the device. These pin number
assignments conform to the industry standard for
RS-232 communications.
