
4.5 Emergency stop, emergency shut-off
The bike does not have a separate emergency stop or emergency shut-off.
The power will shut off as soon as the force upon the pedals stops. The bike will
be braked mechanically or stopped with the brakes.
If the pushing aid is activated the drive is interrupted as soon as the correspon-
ding button is no longer pressed.
The drive system will not turn itself off during braking and thus re-
mains available at all times.
Bikes with a centrally mounted BMZ display unit
can be turned off by removing the display.
The bike should only be turned on if the rider is able to
brake, i.e. can reach at least one brake.
The bike must be turned off as soon as the rider intends
to end his ability to brake.
To ensure accidents are avoided the system must be
completely turned off during servicing, maintenance and
repair work.
