ATTENTION! The pressure should be set from low ca. 5 bar to high and it should
always be kept as low as possible in order to prevent the milling unit from being
damaged!
After the unbroken strand has exited the milling unit you should use the pressure adjustment
valve (
Item 5
) to reduce the milling pressure down to ca. 4-5 bar and then the machine parts
should be moved away from each other by pulling the control lever to the left.
Switch (
Item 6
) over to welding, switch off the milling unit, return it to the in setting up
position and then use the locking function.
Single-side milling:
This enables you to bring up one side of a pipe (right or left). Just touch
the button to change over accordingly.
Always check to see that the part has been fitted so that it is parallel and positioned axially as
well by moving the pipe ends towards one another.
The misalignment between the pipes must never be more than 10% of the pipe wall’s
thickness. Small pipe roundness runouts can be equalised by tighten or loosing the brass
nuts.
The basic chuck can be moved forwards and backwards. This enables it to be precisely
aligned with the pipe opposite it. The pipe must be milled as described after every re-
alignment.
Press the
button (“Continue“).
3.3.4 Welding
Switch (
Item 6
) over to welding.
The heating up and cooling down times must be entered in
the ”Welding parameters“ input page as follows: Use the
displayed button to enter the heating up time and then
confirm it by pressing “RET“. Press
(“Continue“) to
page forward to the next screen
The workpiece moving pressure (drag pressure) can be read
from the touch screen whilst the workpiece ends are being
moved together again.
You only need use the absolute minimum pressure as the
workpiece moving pressure in order to move the workpiece
axially, but this will depend on the actual length and
weight.
This pressure is determined from the heating up and joining
pressures.
Check to see that the heater has reached its working
temperature.
TAKE NOTE!
When heating up it is necessary to wait more
than 10 minutes in order to ensure that the heat has been
distributed evenly over the entire heater. We recommend
that you use a test unit to check the temperature.
Traverse the table outwards until it is in the outer position.
Traverse the heater inwards by touching the ”Heater in /
out“ button and the downwards-arrow or by pulling the
control lever. Press the
button (“Continue“) or move
the table
Press the button on the top of the control lever to
activate the locking function.
