General Safety Instructions
- Check that the device is in good condition each time you wish to use it. If in doubt
contact a qualified person or the service centre listed on the back cover of this
manual.
- Never use a damaged device.
- Store in a dry place and keep out of direct sunlight
- Repairs may only be carried out at an authorised, qualified personnel. Ensure that
only original replacement parts are used. This will not invalidate the guarantee and
ensures continued safe operation of the measuring device.
- Never apply voltage to the device, this can cause damage to the device.
- Do not operate the device in explosive or flammable atmospheres.
- Use the device with care, avoid jolts or other impacts. Never drop the device.
- Do not dismantle the device as this can cause damage.
- Store the appliance in a dry place and away from dust.
- Keep the device clear from water, dirt and dust.
- Turn the device off and allow it to reach room temperature before exposing it to
variations in temperature. Otherwise condensation can form, which under certain
circumstances can damage the device.
- The device may only be used in accordance with this operating manual. Any other
use can impair the device's safety features and lead to injuries.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Always store the device in the supplied belt pouch when not in use.
Handling batteries
Batteries may contain inflammable substances. If batteries are incorrectly handled they
may leak, become extremely hot, catch fire or under certain circumstances explode.
This may cause damage to the device and/or your health.
It is essential that you follow these instructions:
- Keep batteries away from children. In case of accidental swallowing consult a doctor
immediately.
- Before inserting batteries check the condition of the device's battery contacts and
clean these if necessary.
- Never reverse the battery polarity. To prevent the risk of short circuit observe the
positive (+) and negative (-) poles and ensure that the batteries are inserted correctly.
- Never attempt to re-charge batteries unless they are clearly marked 'rechargeable' -
risk of explosion!
