4. Maintenance
Never allow untrained personnel to service the machine. The engine must be serviced
by a certified engineer.
4.1. Safety notes
Before starting with any cleaning, greasing, repairing or servicing procedure you have to assure
that the following instructions are observed exactly:
• The engine must stand still.
• Unplug the power connector to assure the engine can not start in any case.
Never change any electrical parts or electrical cable. Changing in electrical parts could
result in severe injury or death.
Be careful if you come closer to moveable parts during the maintenance. Approach with
due care.
4.2. Cleaning
You may clean up the dust and mud on the mat by a vacuum cleaner. In case of extended dirt
you may take the whole mat out of the machine and clean it under water. Always let the mat
dry completely before putting it back into the machine.
The internally electric and electronic components, cables or connectors must not be
cleaned with compressed air. This could result in short circuits or other errors.
4.3. Maintenance of the brushes
If changing of the brushes is necessary, unscrew the fixing screw on the particular brush and
pull the brush from the engine shaft. Replace the brush and mount it back. Before the center
brush can be changed, you must take off the left polish brush first.
After you have changed a brush, be certain the brush is mounted tight by trying to pull it out
by hand, re-fix if necessary.
