Launching the NK Switchboard Interface
Once DashBoard is installed, the NK Switchboard can be accessed by clicking the NK Switchboard button from the
toolbar. If the Switchboard is already open in the work area, activating it from either the menu or the toolbar will
open it as a new tab in the Device View of DashBoard.
Protected Outputs
The NK Switchboard displays protected outputs by either a yellow highlight, or a pink highlight:
• Outputs that are highlighted yellow are protected by your DashBoard client computer.
• Outputs that are highlighted in pink are protected by another user or another panel in the system.
For the protect system to be accurate, each panel and computer running a DashBoard client must have its own
unique address, specified in the Configure IPS dialog.
You enable the protect function on the specific NK-IPS and then select which outputs will be protected in the
matrix.
To enable the Protect feature on an NK-IPS
1. Display the
Configure IPS
dialog as outlined in the procedure “
To navigate to the Configure IPS dialog
2. In the
Configure IPS
dialog, locate the row for the NK-IPS you wish to configure.
3. Select the
Prot
check box for the NK-IPS.
4. Click
OK
to apply the new settings and close the dialog.
To apply a protect to an output
1. Display the NK Switchboard interface as outlined in the procedure “
To navigate to the NK Switchboard
2. In the
Status
table, select the cell for the crosspoint you want to protect.
In the example below, Output 3 in Level 3 was selected.
3. From the
Functions
toolbar, located on the far right of the NK Switchboard interface, click
Protect
.
The cell for the selected Output now displays a yellow background.
