3.2 Straightening the handlebar and adjusting the steering play
Ergotec Integra B
1. Open the bolts of the steerer clamp (1) and
align the handlebar.
2. Check the steering bearing for play by pulling
the front brake and trying to push the bike
gently backwards and forwards.

There must be no play.
3. If you feel any movement inside the headset:
• Loosen the locking screw (4).
• Hold the lower ring (3) with a 36 mm open-
ended spanner. Using a second 36mm
spanner, turn the upper ring (2) anti-clock-
wise until there is no more headset play.
• To secure the upper ring (2), tighten the
locking screw (4) with a 2 mm hex wrench
to 2 Nm.
4. Check the headset once again for play and repeat the previous steps, if need be, until there is no more play inside the
bearing. If in doubt, seek professional advice from a qualified bicycle mechanic.
5. Tighten the bolts of the steerer clamp (1) with a torque of 10 to 12 Nm.
Ergotec Octopus
1. Open the bolts of the steerer clamp (1) and align
the handlebar.
2. Check the steering bearing for play by pulling the
front brake and trying to push the bike gently back-
wards and forwards.

There must be no play.
3. If there is headset play, tighten the bolt (2) a
quarter turn.
4. Check the headset once again for play and repeat
the previous steps, if need be, until there is no
more play inside the bearing. If in doubt, seek
professional advice from a qualified bicycle
mechanic.
5. Tighten the bolts of the steerer clamp (1) with a
torque of 6 to 8 Nm.
Adjusting the angle (Ergotec Octopus only)
1. Open the bolt (3) a few turns and adjust the tilt of
the stem according to your needs.
2. Tighten the bolt (3) with a torque of 10 Nm and check that the stem is securely fastened.
