APPENDIX B - Water Proofing Installation
WATER PROOFING
The water proofing supplied with the EziTraK™ kit consists of 2 plastic boots,
some silicon grease, cable ties and a water absorbing Desiccant Bag.
The unit must NOT be immersed in water but
will survive a moist environment if properly installed and maintained.
The 2 plastic boots consist of an Inner plastic boot which covers the connector end of the unit and an Outer plastic boot
which covers the whole unit and overlaps ON TOP of the Inner plastic boot.
Once the SIM Card is inserted, the front panel screws replaced and the unit has been tested for correct operation, the
waterproofing can be installed.
Check the front panel cables and connectors are correctly mated and ensure that the Inner plastic boot is sitting securely
over the front panel and connectors.
To access the Front Panel and remove the screws, simply cut the cable ties on the box and cable entry boots. Place some
silicon grease along the cable behind the 3 cable boots. Then carefully SLIDE the Inner plastic boot back over the
cables about 2 inches (50mm) to expose the front panel connectors.
