In this appendix, additional information on the LAN interface is given. How to con-
nect the instrument to the network and configure the network protocols is descri-
bed in
Chapter 3.6, "Setting Up a Network (LAN) Connection" , on page 60.
Network restrictions and entering passwords
Only user accounts with administrator rights can configure LAN networks.
For details see
Chapter 3.5.3, "Login" , on page 58.
In some of the following step-by-step instructions, user names and pass-
words must be entered. This requires using the touchscreen and the on-
screen keyboard, or a mouse and an external keyboard (see
Chapter 5,
"Basic Operations" , on page 78 and Chapter 3.2, "Connecting USB Devi-
ces" , on page 44.
8.1 Configuring the Network
After network support has been installed, data can be exchanged between the
instrument and other computers, and network printers can be used.
Network operation is only possible if you are authorized to access network
resources. Typical resources are file directories of other computers or even cen-
tral printers. Authorization is assigned by the network or server administrator.
