* Wiegand settings are available when the factory default MCX402DR-WGx.hex firmware is uploaded into
expander
** PRT readers settings are available when MCX402DRx.hex firmware from

www.roger.pl

 is uploaded into

expander

Memory reset

Memory reset procedure restores factory default settings including ID=100 software address.

Remove all connections from A, B, CLK and DTA terminals.

Put jumper on “64” contact and restart device with RST button on device board or by switching
supply off and on.

Remove jumper from “64” contacts when LED STAT (red), LED OPN and LED SYS are ON.

LED OPEN and LED SYSTEM will turn OFF and device shall restart automatically with factory

default settings.

Firmware update

Factory new expander is equipped with a firmware dedicated to Wiegand readers. If the expander is to be
operated  with  PRT  readers  then  another  firmware  must  be  uploaded.  Such  firmware  is  available  at

www.roger.pl

. Firmware update is also used in case of migration from RACS 4 to RACS 5 when PR411 and

PR402 controllers are converted into MCX402DR expanders. Firmware update requires RogerISP program.

Firmware update with RogerISP software

Connect device to RUD-1 interface according to Fig.8.

Put a jumper on FDM contacts.

Restart device with RST button on device board or by switching supply off and on.

  Start RogerISP software.

Select serial port emulated by RUD-1 interface.

  Select the option

USB-RS485 Converter

  Select firmware file (*.hex).

  Click

Program

and follow instructions on the screen.

Once the firmware is uploaded remove the FDM jumper.

  Restart device.

  Start Memory Reset procedure.

Installation

Enclosure with DIN rail is recommended for installation of MCX402DR expander. All electric connections
must be done without voltage on wires/terminals and with power supply disconnected. Optionally DIN rail
mounting clips can be removed and the expander can be installed on flat surface. It is recommended to
install the expander in the same enclosure as transformer/PSU. Prior to expander connection to the
controller specify RS485 address and configure other parameters if necessary. The expander is configured
within low level configuration by means of RogerVDM. Default address of factory new device is ID=100.
