3.
Fit the Tailstock Assembly (3) onto the Bottom Rail (1).
Refer to the numbers printed on the Rail to position the
Tailstock Assembly so that the pin of its lower arm fits into the
set of notches closest to (but still larger than) the total width of
the boards you will be gluing to form your panel. Setting the
pin one or two notch positions beyond the final panel width is
not a problem because of the clamp mechanism’s range.

4.
Fit the magnetic Feet (4) into the lower Rail (1), spacing them
as far apart from one another as possible to maximize clamp
stability. If your work surface is wide enough, the Feet ideally
should be positioned outside of the Headstock Assembly (2)
and Tailstock Assembly (3). This will make it easier if you need
to move the Tailstock Assembly toward the Headstock
Assembly later.
5.
Lay out the boards for your panel on the bottom Rail (1)
between the Headstock Assembly (2) and the Tailstock
Assembly (3). Lift the top arms of the assemblies to fit the
boards in.
6.
If the boards don’t fit, or if there’s a lot of extra space, adjust
the Tailstock Assembly (3) in or out as necessary. There are
knurled pin extensions on the Tailstock Assembly to make it
easier to hold the arms open.
7.
Apply glue to the edges of your boards and position them for
clamping on the bottom Rail (1).
8.
Grab the top Rail (1), orienting it so the teeth are facing up and
toward you. Lift the top arm of the Headstock Assembly (2)
and begin sliding the Rail through the Headstock toward the
Tailstock Assembly (3). Lift the top arm of the Tailstock
Assembly and slide the Rail until the Headstock Assembly
locks into the U-shaped notch. Allow the pin of the top arm of
the Tailstock Assembly to fit into the same set of notches as it
did in the bottom Rail.

9.
Verify that the Headstock Assembly (2) and the Tailstock
Assembly (3) are locked in corresponding slots in the top and
bottom Rails (1).
10.
Turn the threaded handle on the Headstock Assembly (2)
to apply clamping pressure to the boards, making sure the
joints are flush as you increase the pressure. Small
discrepancies at the joined edges are normal; simply give the
boards a tap with a dead-blow mallet to bring the joints flush.

Once the glue has dried, loosen the threaded handle and
remove the panel.
