Chapter 5: Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Cleaning Your Meter

Caring for your ACCU-CHEK Advantage meter is easy – just keep it free of dust. But if you need to clean it,
following these guidelines carefully will help you get the best performance possible:

Do

• Make sure the meter is turned off.

• Gently wipe the meter’s surface with a soft cloth

slightly dampened with one of these cleaning
solutions:

• 70% alcohol

• Mild dishwashing liquid mixed with water

• 10% household bleach solution (1 part

bleach in 9 parts water) made the same day

Do Not

• Get any moisture in the code key slot or test

strip slot.

• Spray any cleaning solution directly onto the

meter.

• Put the meter under water (or any liquid).

• Pour liquid into the meter.
