13.4 Gas Valve Maintenance
No reg u lar maintenance is req u ired on this device.
To change gas control valves, See Page 42, Section
15.1 .
Do not repair or disassemble g as valve.
Replace fa u lty gas valves w ith replacement parts
sold and s u pplied by Roberts-Gordon LLC.
13.5 Flue Blower
The fl u e blo w er sho u ld not req u ire maintenance.
Ho w ever, if the air press u re s w itch is ca u sing b u rner
locko u t, then remove the fl u e blo w er from the vent
box by u nscre w ing the scre w s at the mo u nting plate.
Scre w q u antity w ill vary by model size. Remove the
scre w s attaching the mo u nting plate to the fan inlet.
See Page 48, Section 15.7 through Page 50,
Section 15.9 . Ens u re that the fan is free to r u n and
that the fan w heel is clean.
13.6 Ventin g and Air Intake Pipe
Inspect all venting and air intake pipe. Ens u re that
all seams are sealed and s u spension points sec u re.
Repair s u spension points if any part of the venting
or comb u stion air pipe is sagging. Check to make
s u re any ins u lation is not missing or in poor
condition. Replace as necessary. Check all venting
and air intake components to ens
u re they are in
good condition, gas tight and corrosion-free.
13.7 Maintenance Checklist
Installation Code and Annual Inspections: All
installation and service of ROBERTS GORDON ®
eq u ipment m u st be performed by a contractor
q u alified in the installation and service eq u ipment
sold and s u pplied by Roberts-Gordon LLC and
conform to all req u irements set forth in the
ROBERTS GORDON ® man u als and all applicable
governmental a u thorities pertaining to the
installation, service, operation and labeling of the
eq
u ipment.
To help facilitate optim u m performance and safety,
Roberts-Gordon LLC recommends that a q u alified
contractor cond u ct, at a minim u m, ann u al
inspections of yo u r ROBERTS GORDON ®
eq u ipment and perform service w here necessary,
u sing only replacement parts sold and s u pplied by
Roberts-Gordon LLC.
Annual Fall Start Up Follo w entire start- u p proced u re at this time and check control settings and
operation.
The Vicinity of the Heater Do not store or u se flammable objects, liq u ids or vapors near the heater.
Immediately remove these items if they are present.
See Page 6, Section 3 .
Vehicles and Other
Objects Maintain the clearances to comb u stibles.
Do not hang anything from, or place anything on, the heater.
Make s u re nothing is lodged in bet w een the heat exchanger t u bes.
Immediately remove objects in violation of the clearances to comb u stibles.
See Page 7, Section 4 .
Vent Pipe/Terminals V enting m u st be intact. Using a flashlight, look for obstr u ctions, cracks on the
pipe, gaps in the sealed areas or corrosion.
The area m u st be free of dirt and d u st.
Remove any carbon deposits or scale u sing a w ire br u sh.
If the vent terminal has a screen b u ilt in, remove any dirt, d u st or deposits
from the screen.
