During ‘Alternating Mode’ the air cells inflate and deflate in
a 1 in 3 pattern with a cycle time of 7.5 or 15 minutes
depending on regional preferences.
The mattress is contructed into four groups (see page 28),
w hen the "A" cell’s air is sucked out, pressure is completely
removed in the portion of the body originally in contact with
those cells.
After 2.5 (or 5 minutes, depending on cycle time) the "A"
cells re-inflate and the "B" cells deflate for the next 2.5
minutes. This is th
en repeated for the “C” cells.
Over the 7.5/15 minute cycle, contact pressure is
completely removed routinely from all parts of the body in
contact with the active components of the mattress.
