Der Hochstart

- Der Hochstart erfolgt genau gegen den Wind.

- Zeltnagel einschlagen, Hochstartschnur auslegen.

- Modell zusammenbauen, nochmals die Funktion der

Fernsteuerung prüfen.

- Hochstartring im Hochstarthaken am Modell einhän-

gen.

hen. Die richtige Spannung ist gefunden, wenn das
Modell bei gleichmäßiger Steiggeschwindigkeit den
Scheitelpunkt erreicht, ohne daß das Seil durchhängt.

- Bei schwachem Wind: Starke Spannung.

- Bei mittlerem bis starkem Wind: Geringe Spannung.

- Als Anhaltspunkt seien je nach Windstärke 30 - 60

Schritte für die ersten Hochstarts genannt.

Bungee launching

- The model must always be launched directly into any

wind.

- Hammer the tent-peg into the ground and lay out the

bungee launch system.

- Assemble the model completely and repeat the check

of the working systems.

- Connect the towring to the towhook on the model.
- Stretch the rubber by walking backwards for about 30

paces, holding the model securely.

- Hold the model exactly level.
- Let the model go and watch it carefully. It will be pulled

up into the air by the tension in the rubber, in similar fas-
hion to a kite.

- If the model shows a tendency to veer off to one side

instead of climbing straight, apply opposite rudder to
correct.

- For the first few flights do not use the elevator control

while the model is still attached to the bungee line.

- Allow the glider to climb to the peak of the launch; its

climb rate will then slacken off, and eventually the bun-
gee line will usually slip off the model automatically. If
that does not happen, push the elevator stick forward
(away from you)

briefly

to encourage it.

- You will have to find the right amount of tension in the

rubber by your own experiments. At first don’t stretch
the rubber too much. The tension is correct when the
model climbs at an even, steady speed to the top of the
line, without the bungee system sagging back towards
the ground.

- In light winds: more tension.

- In moderate to strong winds: less tension.

- Depending on wind strength a good starting point for

stretching the rubber is to walk back 30 - 60 paces.

Le treuillage

- Le treuillage intervient également exactement face au

vent.

- Planter le piquet de tente. Développer le cordon de

treuillage.
