Fresh Water (Continued)
•
The fill for the exterior tank is in the door post of the front driver door, near the door handle. Look for the orange plug in the fill port. (Picture
45.1) Running water into the fill port will fill the exterior tank only - approximately 17 gallons.
•
The tank selector valve determines which tank the water pump draws water from. It is a long handle with a plastic cover, usually red or
yellow in color, located next to the water heater, behind a door down at floor level to the left of the refrigerator. (Pictures 45.3, 45.4) See
photos below for how to position the valve to draw from the exterior or interior tank. In summer mode, this handle is in the exterior tank
position, and the tank isolator valve is open. In summer mode, you don't have to worry about which tank has water - with the tank isolator
valve open, water from the interior tank replenishes water from the exterior tank as it is used.
•
To fill the interior tank only, close the tank isolator valve and set the tank selector valve to the interior position. The interior fill is located in
the rear door on the right side. (Picture 45.2) With the tank isolator valve closed, running water into this fill port will fill the interior tank only -
approximately 10 gallons.
•
To fill both interior and exterior tanks, open the tank connection valve and set the tank selector valve to the exterior position. Fill exterior tank
first, then interior tank.
Roadtrek recommends that you use a dedicated single purpose potable-water hose. These are usually white in color. Buy a new one and use it only
for filling your tanks and connecting to city water. View any hose lying around a campground with extreme skepticism, especially if there's a
wastewater dump nearby. Large RVs use hoses to flush their wastewater system. Always flush faucet and hose thoroughly before use.
