OVERVIEW

Clear Channel T3 and E3 utilizes the full DS3 bandwidth for data transmission as shown in 

Table 30-4

.

Clear Channel T3 and E3 Service Interface Module

Each Clear Channel T3 and E3 WAN Interface Card (WIC) has one port, and an internal CSU/DSU. The WICs have 
a BNC connector Transmit/Receive pair. Two T3 or E3 WICs, or a T3 and an E3 WIC, can be installed in a Multi-Rate 
WAN module, giving a total of two ports.

Framing and line coding schemes are employed to ensure the reliable transmission of the data; the schemes used 
depend on the interface, as shown in 

Table 30-5
