Breakdown condition detected
: This is displayed if the voltage at DUT delivered by
meter reaches the nominal voltage(voltage set by user) and the current crosses the short
circuit current for about 20 sec. This message will not be displayed in the RAMP mode,
only current limit condition is shown in this mode even if breakdown condition occurs.
Burn mode:
In this mode the insulation resistance test is not stopped even if the current in
the DUT crosses the short circuit current. In this case the meter limits the current in the DUT
to the short circuit current so that harm is not caused due to excessive current.
In addition to the above messages another message maybe displayed which is ”High voltage
shorted to guard or breakdown”. This is displayed when the voltage doesn’t reach the desired
value and the current is below 1 mA. This is generally displayed when the user accidentally
shorts the positive and guard terminals/guard breakdown. Please note that this message will
be shown in both BURN mode and BREAKDOWN mode.
9.6 Go No Go Settings:
This meter also has go no go setting in which a user can set a limit above which the
insulation will be declared healthy by the meter. During the test the insulation resistance text
color will turn green on the main measurement screen if the go no go setting is ON and the
insulation resistance is above the decided limit as shown below otherwise it will turn red.
The go no go setting is also available in the voltage mode where the voltage text color
will turn red if the go no go setting is ON and the voltage is above the decided limit
